The BDMP offers a genetic edition of Samuel Beckett&#039;s works, and falls under the auspices of the <a title=\"CMG\" href=\"https:\/\/www.uantwerpen.be\/en\/rg\/centre-for-manuscript-genetics\/\">Centre for Manuscript Genetics<\/a> at the <a title=\"UAntwerp\" href=\"https:\/\/www.uantwerpen.be\/en\/\">University of Antwerp<\/a>, the <a title=\"Beckett International Foundation\" href=\"http:\/\/www.beckettfoundation.org.uk\/\">Beckett International Foundation<\/a> at the <a title=\"University of Reading\" href=\"http:\/\/www.reading.ac.uk\/\">University of Reading<\/a>, the <a title=\"HRC\" href=\"http:\/\/www.hrc.utexas.edu\/\">Harry Ransom Research Center<\/a>\u00a0at the <a title=\"UTexas\" href=\"http:\/\/www.utexas.edu\/\">University of\u00a0Texas at\u00a0Austin<\/a>, and the Estate of Samuel Beckett.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The primary purpose of this website is to serve as an encoding\u00a0resource for our collaborators. In our <a title=\"General Remarks\" href=\"https:\/\/bdmpmanual.uantwerpen.be\/EncodingManual\/general-remarks\/\">General Remarks<\/a> section, they\u00a0can refresh their memories concerning the basics of TEI-XML encoding in general, and of our project-specific encoding guidelines in particular. And in our section on <a title=\"The Tags\" href=\"https:\/\/bdmpmanual.uantwerpen.be\/index.php\/the-tags\/\">The Tags<\/a>, they will find all the information they need on the tags we use to encode both\u00a0<a title=\"1. The Header\" href=\"https:\/\/bdmpmanual.uantwerpen.be\/index.php\/the-tags\/encoding-header\/\">The Header<\/a> and <a title=\"2. The Text\" href=\"https:\/\/bdmpmanual.uantwerpen.be\/index.php\/the-tags\/encoding-text\/\">The Text<\/a>. But because we think this information may also\u00a0be useful for other researchers working on similar materials, we wanted to open up the Encoding Manual to the general public too. As a result, we invite\u00a0anyone\u00a0who is\u00a0interested in scholarly editing, TEI-XML, and\/or genetic criticism to take a look\u00a0under the hood of the BDMP, and see how we encode our transcriptions.
